Ms. Arpita Mitra

Assistant Professor of Law

Ms. Arpita Mitra is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Law at Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri. She has pursued her LLM with specialisation in Corporate and Commercial Laws from Christ University, School of Law, and completed her graduation from the University of North Bengal, Department of Law. She has done a foundational course on Jurisprudence from Christ University. She previously worked at a law firm called Kamal Kumar Kedia and Associates.

Ms. Arpita has also interned with various lawyers like Adv Nilay Chakraborty and Adv Arindam Mitra, as well as NGOs like the Human Life Development and Research Centre. She has also presented papers on seminars on the topic of "Towards Effective Employment Guarantee and Wages to the Unorganised Workers" held during 23-24 November, 2013organised by UNIVERSITY OF NORTH BENGAL - DEPARTMENT OF LAW, West Bengal and on the topic of "Human Rights of Vulnerable Groups in SAARC Regions - Issues of implementing, monitoring and regulating" held on 15-17 November 2014 organised by UNIVERSITY OF NORTH BENGAL - DEPARTMENT OF LAW.
