Ms. Lakpa Doma Rumba is working as Assistant Professor of Law in Indian Institute of Legal Studies. Siliguri. She did her schooling from Sai Sundaram School, Kurseong and +2 from St. Alphonsus School from Kurseong itself. She had completed BBA-LLB(H) 2013-2018 with Silver Medal from ICFAI University, Sikkim. There she was also the part of Sikkim Legal Service Authority (SLSA. She did her LLM from North Bengal University in 2020, Siliguri. During the course of master’s programme, she had successfully completed her dissertation on the topic “A study of implementation Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 in Kurseong Subdivision of Dist. Darjeeling” under the supervision of Dr. Sujit Kumar Biswas, Assistant professor of Law. She had actively participated and presented papers in international seminars/Workshops/Conferences/UGC sponsored and other National seminars, organized by various universities. She had worked as a member of NSS and been a part of the Legal Awareness Cell of my University.
Her areas of interest include Criminal Laws, Constitutional Laws, and Environmental. Apart from that She is a member of Legal Right Protection Organization an NGO based in Siliguri and work towards the awareness of legal rights and its remedies. And lastly, She had also completed 1 year plus experience as counsellor under District Magistrate,Special Board of Juvenile Justice at Kalimpong.
