The couple was killed in the year 2007, June. The killing was ordered by a Khap Panchayat in Karora Village, in Kaithal District, Haryana. Though police protection was given to them, the policemen slipped away after leaving them at Peepli Village, where Babli\u2019s family members kidnapped them and killed the couple cold bloodedly. Their bodies were fished out of a canal where they were thrown after being wrapped in gunny bags.<\/p>\n

A woman named Mamta Bai from Rajasthan was ordered to live with a man whose wife eloped with her husband. This order was served upon her by the Khap of Notara Bhopat village. She was asked to either pay a compensation of Rs. 3 lakhs or live with Rajendra Meghwal.<\/p>\n
In Kolar village, Sarda Tehsil of Udaipur, a married woman and her husband got brutally punished by the villagers by relentlessly beating them after forcibly making them return. The woman was tied to trees and stripped off and her hair snipped.<\/p>\n

A dictum was given by a khap panchayat in Uttar Pradesh for the minimum use of cell phones for women under 40 years of age. Ban was further laid down in going out with a male and all love marriages.<\/p>\n
