
Special Lecture by IRCS, Cooch Behar

The Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar has organised a special lecture programme at the college campus on 27.05.2025 from 11:00 am onwards at Moot Court Hall on the Role of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) under the Humanitarian Law and its principles under Contemporary Era” which were duly attended and witnessed by Dr. Jayati Kharga, Principal in charge, Dr. Priya Singh, Dean (Academic), Faculty members and Students including the B.A.LLB (H) Sem IX of our Institute. This special lecture is specially meant for the students of B.A. LLB Sem IX Students our students as they have this topic and area of study in their curriculum for having the practical exposure in the said field, hence it was conducted accordingly. The special guests of honour for the said programme were Sri PK Paul, Secretary of IRCS, Mr. T. K. Das, Treasurer of IRCS, Mr A K Bhowal Renowed Businessman, Tarun Chakraborty , Teacher of High School, Anirban Majumdar, Teacher of High School, Babulal Das gupta, Teacher of High School, Sounak Sarkar, Teacher of High School, Priyanka Sen Teacher of High School and were also the Life time Member of IRCS . The programme starts with the introductory speech duly delivered by Mr Anit Kumar, Assistant Professor of Law of Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar and subsequently the felicitation of our all special guests was done by the Dr. Priya Singh, Dean (Academic), and Ms Diksha Thapa Assistant Professor of Law and other teachers of our institute who were duly assisted by the students. After the felicitation of the guests, the special lecture was delivered by the Sri PK Paul, Secretary of IRCS, After the completion of lecture, we witnessed the question hour session in which many students asked questions relevant to the said lecture and allied areas. It was really a very insightful session held at our college where our special guest have threw light on how the IRCS Works and its role and objective in the contemporary scenario. Lastly, the programme ends with the vote of thanks duly proposed by Ms. Anit Kumar, Assistant Professor of Law of Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar.
