Alternative Dispute Resolution Competition 2026 Organized by ADRS at Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri

The Alternative Dispute Resolution Society (ADRS), a sub-society of the Moot Court Society at Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri successfully organised the Alternative Dispute Resolution Competition, 2026 on 27th and 28th March 2026 with active participation from both the junior and senior batches. The competition received an overwhelming response from students across semesters and created a valuable platform for practical learning in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration.
The senior batch round, held on 27th March 2026, included students from the 5-year B.A./BBA./B.Com LL.B. (Hons.) 6th, 8th and 10th semesters and the 3-year LL.B. 4th and 6th semesters, and was based on a commercial dispute involving contractual obligations, delay in supply, and negotiation between two companies. The junior batch round, conducted on 28th March 2026, included students from the 5-year B.A./BBA./B.Com LL.B. (Hons.) 2nd and 4th semesters and the 3-year LL.B. 2nd semester, focusing on a neighbourhood dispute involving pet ownership, nuisance, and peaceful coexistence within a residential community.
Through written submissions and oral rounds, participants showed sincere effort, legal understanding, and effective communication skills. The successful completion of the competition also reflected the dedication, coordination, and continuous efforts of the organising team in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
