Bridging Academia and Judicial Practice at Indian Institute of Legal Studies
25-05-2026
Today, the Indian Institute of Legal Studies successfully hosted Day 1 of our Special Lecture Series 2026, featuring an illuminating address by Hon’ble Justice Biswajit Basu, Former Judge of the Calcutta High Court.
In his session, “Practical Insights from the Bench,” Justice Basu delivered a masterclass on the Code of Civil Procedure, Limitation Act, and Family Law. He encouraged our students to look beyond the statutes, emphasizing a holistic, societal approach to marriage and custody laws, while reminding future advocates that the CPC remains the absolute "bible and guide" for all lawyers.
The academic session was enriched by the presence and expert guidance of our Founder & Chairman, Dr. Joyjit Choudhury, alongside a warm welcome from Principal-in-Charge, Dr. Trishna Gurung.
We also proudly celebrated the winners of the Final ADR Competition today!
