Empirical Field Study on RTI Awareness at Shri Narasigha Vidyapith School

On 10th September 2026, Semester III B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) students from the Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri, conducted an empirical research under the subject Right to Information by visiting to Shri Narasigha Vidyapith School, Shivmandir, Siliguri.

The field study, titled “Awareness of RTI among Students and Young Adults in Shri Narasigha Vidyapith School and Their Knowledge of the RTI Application Process,” aimed to evaluate and enhance legal literacy at the school level. The team conducted an interactive, student-friendly session covering the fundamentals of the Right to Information Act, including eligibility, scope, and the step-by-step application process.

Beyond spreading legal awareness, the initiative provided the student researchers with valuable field insights, practical experience, and a deeper appreciation for community engagement.
