Final Round of Intra-Alternative Dispute Resolution Competition, 2026

The Alternative Dispute Resolution Society (ADRS),
Sub-Society of Moot Court Society,
Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri,
successfully conducted the Final Round of the Intra-Alternative Dispute Resolution Competition, 2026 on 23rd May 2026 at the Moot Court Hall.

The Final Round revolved around a complex matrimonial dispute involving allegations under Section 498A IPC, mental cruelty, irretrievable breakdown of marriage, and the enforceability of mediated settlements under Family Law and ADR mechanisms. The competition provided participants with an enriching platform to develop advocacy, negotiation, and mediation skills through practical dispute resolution.

We were deeply honoured by the gracious presence of Dr. Trishna Gurung, Principal, Indian Institute of Legal Studies, and The Hon’ble Justice Biswajit Basu, Former Judge of the Calcutta High Court, who awarded trophies, medals, and certificates to the participants and encouraged students towards the effective use of Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms.
