Legal Awareness Through Knowledge & Action

The Legal Aid Society, Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri, conducted a Legal Aid and Awareness Session at Little Angles School, Champasari, Siliguri, on 06 October 2026.

The programme was organised to promote legal literacy among students and to create awareness regarding the right to legal aid, artificial intelligence and cyber law, criminal procedures such as F.I.R., and the legal framework for the protection of children.

The student-led sessions successfully engaged 130 students of class XI and XII, providing critical insights into foundational legal rights and contemporary legal challenges. The comprehensive discussions demystified the initial steps of the justice delivery mechanism and equipped students with the awareness to safely navigate modern digital spaces.

The programme reflects a continued commitment to extending practical legal education beyond the classroom, empowering students with the knowledge of their rights and the mechanisms to access justice within the community.
