Koch Rajbanshi Youth Festival 2026 - Legal Awareness, Rights & Legal Aid Programme

Nayan Chandra Roy, a student of B.Com LL.B. (Hons.), Semester V, Indian Institute of Legal Studies Siliguri, participated in the Koch Rajbanshi Youth Festival (KRYF), a two-day programme held on 19th and 20th September 2026 in Coochbehar .

During the festival, he delivered a session on “Legal Awareness and Rights of the Rajbanshi Community” and participated in a panel discussion with Advocate Daliya Das (Delhi High Court), Advocate Mriganka Roy Koch (Cooch Behar District Court), and Ms. Jyoti Das (Assistant Professor of Law, Indian Institute Of Legal Studies , Cooch Behar). He also participated in a Legal Aid Programme organised in collaboration with Indian Institute of Legal Studies , Cooch Behar.

The programme was further graced by Shri Dipak Barman, Hon’ble Minister of School Education, Government of West Bengal; Smt. Malati Rava Roy, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Women and Child Development Department; Shri Bishal Lama, Hon’ble Minister of State, Home and Hill Affairs Department, as well as Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education; Shri Manoj Tigga Member of the Lok Sabha and Shri Ajay Roy, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly, along with several other eminent legislators, dignitaries, and distinguished guests from West Bengal.
