Raksha Bandhan at SSB Ranidanga

Celebrating the Bond of Protection.

The 41st Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Ranidanga, District Darjeeling organised a meaningful Raksha Bandhan Celebration on 27th August 2026 to foster the enduring bond of protection, gratitude, and national unity. The event was chaired by Shri Vandan Saxena  Inspector General (IG), Frontier HQ Siliguri and other Officers of Sashastra Seema Bal.

Students of Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri accompanied by Ms. Sufia Sheikh and Mr. Ashim Eric Ghatany, Assistant Professors of Law, participated in the celebration by tying Rakhis to the brave SSB personnel as a mark of respect and gratitude for their selfless service to the nation.

The gesture held special significance as many of these personnel serve far away from their families while safeguarding India's borders. By tying Rakhis, the students expressed the nation's appreciation and solidarity with the protectors who sacrifice the comfort of home in the line of duty.

The participating students were Lohit Kumar Bhowmick, Sukanya Ghosh, Hritika Bose, Tanishtha Saha, Pratiksha Sharma, Yasodha Chettri, Sweety Roy, Bhumika Basnet, Christina War, Anisha Rai.

The programme concluded with a renewed sense of patriotism, respect, and appreciation for the unwavering dedication of the Sashastra Seema Bal in protecting the nation.
