Semester VII Students Visit Siliguri Court for Lok Adalat Proceedings

On 12 September 2026, Semester VII students from the five-year integrated law programmes of the Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri, visited the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court to witness and observe Lok Adalat proceedings. Accompanied by faculty member Mr. Rajib Kumar Das, Assistant Professor of Law, associated with the Legal Aid Society, the students attended the court.

Organised as part of practical learning under the Legal Aid subject, the visit enabled students to understand the functioning of Lok Adalats, the process of amicable dispute settlement, the role of conciliatory mechanisms, and the significance of legal-services institutions in advancing access to justice.
