State-Level Consumer Awareness Competition 2026

The Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri, in collaboration with the Consumer Affairs & Fair Business Practices, Siliguri R.O., successfully hosted the State Level Competition on Essay Writing (English/Bengali), Poster Illustration & Slogan Writing on 19th August 2026, under the theme "Safe Products, Confident Consumers." 

The occasion was graced by Assistant Director of Consumer Affairs & Fair Business Practices, Sri Rahul Adhikary, Consumer Welfare Officer Sri Abhijit Deb Gupta, Md. Wahid Alam, Consumer Activist, North Bengal, and Shri Amitava Ray, Deputy Assistant Director, Siliguri R.O. 

Under the guidance of our Principal-in-Charge Dr. Trishna Gurung, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from colleges across the region. IILS led the way with 14 participants (8 Essay, 5 Poster, 1 Slogan), followed by Trinity College with 2 participants (2 Essay), S.C Commerce College with 9 participants (8 Essay, 1 Poster), Pragati College with 28 participants (15 Essay, 3 Poster, 10 Slogan), and IIAS with 25 participants (14 Essay, 8 Poster, 3 Slogan). In all, a total of 78 students from 5 institutions came together to raise their voice for consumer rights and responsible consumerism.
