Clinical Legal Classes 2019

Indian Institute of Legal Studies is organizing Clinical Legal Classes for the students of B.A./B.B.A./B.COM 5 Years LL.B. Semester VI & VIII and 3 Years LL.B. Semester II & IV to give them the realistic and rational access towards the theoretical subjects of Law. It is basically to aid the students in understanding the practical implications of the subjects.

The said Clinical Legal Classes shall be provided by Mr. Juwel Chanda, Civil Judge, 1st Court, Howrah and Mr. Arghya Acharya, Judicial Magistrate, Tamluk, Purba Madinipur on 8th and 9th March , 2019.

The topics of discussions are ‘Judicial Decision Making, Artificial Intelligence and Law: What the future practitioners must know.’ & ‘Drafting, Pleading & Conveyance and Practical Approach towards the subjects of Consumer Protection Laws & Insurance Laws’.

The former concept will highlight for instance the format, size and composition of the court, several procedural rules, the factual circumstances of cases, the form and content of the substantive rules governing the case, the evidence available and the methods and standards used to decide on facts according to the proofs and to solve legal issues according to the relevant rules and principles. In later segment, speakers will focus on legal consultations, departmental documentations and interpretation of documents relating to Consumer Protection Laws & Insurance Laws.
