How to Qualify Law Entrance Exam

Law is one of the best career option in India and in order to get an admission in best Law Colleges in India CLAT is required. Common Law Admission Test commonly known as CLAT is an All India Entrance Examination conducted by the Universities and National Law Schools for admission to their under-graduate and post-graduate degree programmes. In order to qualify CLAT there are two stages-

Firstly after passing 12th standard for a five year integrated course in B.A. LL.B, or B. COM LL.B, or BBA LL.B the subjects for the entrance exam are viz.

English (Including Comprehension) 40 Marks,

Elementary Mathematics (20 Marks),

General Knowledge/Current Affairs (50 Marks),

Logical Reasoning (40 Marks),

Legal Reasoning (50 Marks).

Total consisting of 200 Marks.

Secondly, after having a Law degree with a minimum of Fifty five percent(55%) of Marks or its equivalent marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD categories and 50% of Marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. Pattern of the exam is as follows:

Multiple Choice Questions – 100 marks

Subjective Questions – 50 Marks

Total consisting of 150 Marks.

Syllabus for objective questions:

The Constitution of India – 40 Marks

Other Law Subjects – 60 Marks (Which includes Criminal Law, Jurisprudence, Contract, Law of Torts, International Law, Intellectual Property Rights)
