Mr. Arkaprava Bhattacharya is presently working as a Teaching Assistant in Law at the Indian Institute of Legal Studies. He pursued his B.B.A. LL.B. (Honours) from the Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri, and later completed his LL.M. from the Department of Law, Tripura University. He has consistently combined academic excellence with active engagement in research, paper presentations, and institutional activities.
Mr. Bhattacharya has presented research papers at several national and international conferences. He presented “RTI and Good Governance” at the National Conference on Right to Information organized by Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, in collaboration with the Punjab State Information Commission. His paper “Sedition Law: Past and Current Time” was presented at the National Conference on Emerging Crime and Law organized by HVPS College of Law, University of Mumbai. At the international level, he presented “Unveiling the Mirage: Exploring the Genesis, Jurisprudence, & Future Forecast of the Refugee Crisis” at the International Conference on Displacement Justice organized by the Indian Institute of Legal Studies.
He has also authored and published scholarly works. His chapter “Evolution of Reformative Jurisprudence in Indian Perspective” was published in the edited book Macaulay to Verma: Changing Nature and Dimensions of Indian Penal Code by Thakkar Law Publishers. Another chapter, “An Outlook on the Legal Status of Astrology in India”, was published in Global Thoughts and Opinions under the Justice Dipak Mishra Call for Papers. His paper on “The Role of Indian Judiciary in Providing Remedies to Aggrieved Arrested Persons” appeared in the UGC-CARE listed International Journal of Research and Analytical Reviews. He has also published in The Statesman and in Quest, the student journal of the Indian Institute of Legal Studies.
Through his research, publications, internships, and institutional contributions, Mr. Bhattacharya has established himself as a committed young scholar with a strong orientation towards teaching, research, and legal service.
