Mr. Rajib Kumar Das is a legal academic specializing in competition law and digital market regulation, with a particular focus on the influence of law and policy in fostering accountable digital and sports ecosystems within India and the Global South. His doctoral research at the Department of Law, University of Burdwan, informs his active involvement in law-and-policy discussions pertaining to platform governance, civil liberties, and regulatory design. This is further demonstrated by his recent presentations at the 6th IPPN Conference at NLSIU Bengaluru, where he addressed safeguarding civil liberties in India’s digital landscape and modernizing competition law for digital markets. His core academic interests also encompass comparative legal studies, constitutional law, jurisprudence and legal theory, consumer protection law, public international law, and tort law, which form the foundation of his broader teaching and research endeavors.
In addition to his foundational legal training, Mr. Das holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management (PGDSM) from IISWBM, University of Calcutta. This qualification enhances his contributions at the intersection of sports law and governance, commercial regulation, and competition law. His early professional experience as an Event Specialist during the 2012 Indian Premier League (IPL) season at Eden Gardens, coupled with freelance engagements in sports and event management, provides him with direct insights into the operational and regulatory dimensions of large-scale sports events and the broader sports industry.
