Nistha Khesong is an advocate enrolled with the Bar Council of West Bengal, currently serving as a Teaching Assistant at Indian Institute of Legal Studies. She holds an LL.M. from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, and completed her B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College, Calcutta University, graduating with academic distinction.
Nistha's areas of interest lie in insolvency, bankruptcy, and corporate law, an interest she has pursued through internships at IndiaLaw LLP, Mumbai, and the National Company Law Tribunal, Kolkata Bench, where she engaged with matters ranging from corporate insolvency resolution to complex amalgamation proceedings. Her legal experience also spans arbitration, under the chambers of Justice Jyotirmay Bhattacharya (Retd.), and litigation, through internships at the District and Sessions Court, Darjeeling, and the Calcutta High Court. Her LL.M. dissertation, "Speed, Value and Delay: The Paradox of Time-Bound Insolvency in India," reflects her continued engagement with contemporary questions in insolvency law.
Beyond academics, Nistha has served in several leadership roles, including Secretary and Class Representative of her LL.M. batch at NALSAR. She is also a writer and public speaker, with a keen interest in poetry, and is passionate about animal welfare.
As a Teaching Assistant, Nistha looks forward to mentoring students and continuing her own scholarship in corporate law.
