As part of academic and field-based learning, the students of LL.B.VI Semester had the opportunity to visit the office of the Forest Divisional Officer (DFO) of the Cooch Behar Division. The visit provided valuable insights into forest administration, wildlife conservation, and the practical challenges of managing natural resources.
The Forest Divisional Officer briefed the students about the organizational structure of the forest department, explaining how different ranges and beats function under the division.
One of the most engaging parts of the visit was the interactive session, where questions were asked about career opportunities in the forest services, challenges faced in fieldwork, and strategies for sustainable forest management. The officers shared real-life experiences, which gave the students a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and dedication required in this field.
Overall, the visit was highly informative and enriching.
