Field Study on Consumer Protection in E-Commerce Transactions - B.A. LL.B. Semester V

On 19 September 2026, five students of B.A. LL.B. Semester V undertook fieldwork in the Pundibari local area, Cooch Behar, as part of their practical subject, Service Learning under Consumer Protection, with the field study topic titled “Consumer Protection in E-Commerce Transactions: A Field-Based Study of Online Experiences under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.”

The fieldwork aimed to provide students with practical insights into the experiences of consumers in relation to e-commerce transactions and online purchases. The students interacted with local consumers, shopkeepers, and residents in the Pundibari area to understand their experiences with online shopping, consumer awareness, pricing, product quality, billing and payment practices, product information, delivery services, returns and refunds, complaints, and awareness of consumer rights and remedies available under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
