Indian Institute of Legal Studies successfully conducted a Field Visit at Kuchlibari Village, Mekhaliganj Block, Cooch Behar, through the students of B.A. LL.B. VI Semester, accompanied by Mr. Sagar Prasad, Assistant Professor of Political Science, as part of their academic research under Political Science VI.

The field-based study focused on understanding the socio-economic, political, and border-related impact of the Teen Bigha Corridor and enclave settlement on the lives of the local residents. During the visit, students interacted directly with villagers and border-area residents to understand their experiences, challenges, and expectations.

The visit provided valuable practical exposure regarding citizenship issues, border administration, development policies, livelihood opportunities, welfare schemes, and the changing realities of enclave settlement areas after the implementation of the India-Bangladesh Land Boundary Agreement.

Through interviews, observations, and field research methods, the students gained first-hand knowledge beyond classroom learning and developed a deeper understanding of the socio-political realities of border regions.

Such academic initiatives play an important role in promoting experiential learning, research orientation, and social awareness among students.
