Field Visit to United India Insurance Company, Cooch Behar

On 8th October 2026, the students of LL.B. Semester V of the Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar, undertook a special empirical field visit to United India Insurance Company Limited, Cooch Behar, as part of their academic activities under the subject Insurance Law, under the supervision of Ms. Bilkis Praveen, Assistant Professor of Law.
The visit was organised to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of an insurance company and to help them understand the practical application of legal concepts studied under Insurance Law. During the visit, the students gained insights into insurance policies, claim procedures, settlement processes, and policyholders’ rights.
The visit helped the students connect their theoretical knowledge of insurance law with practical experience and develop a better understanding of the functioning of the insurance sector.
