Fieldwork on Consumer Awareness and Protection at Alipurduar Main Market

On 16th September 2026, six students of B.A. LL.B. Semester V undertook their fieldwork at Alipurduar Main Market as part of their practical subject, Service Learning under Consumer Protection.
The fieldwork aimed to provide students with practical insights into the functioning of the consumer marketplace and the experiences of both consumers and sellers. The students engaged with local shopkeepers and consumers at Alipurduar Main Market to explore issues of consumer awareness, pricing, product quality, billing practices, product information, complaints, and rights.
