Honouring the Memories of Partition at Institute of Legal Studies, Cooch Behar

The Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar, observed Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on 14 August 2026. The observance was held to remember the immense suffering, displacement, and loss faced by millions during the Partition of India in 1947.
The observance honoured the memory of those who suffered and those who lost their lives, ensuring that the pain and sacrifices of the past are never forgotten.
The day also reminded us of the enduring values of unity, harmony, and peace, while encouraging future generations to stand against hatred, violence, and division and to work towards a more peaceful and harmonious society.
