Legal Awareness Camp at Baksirhat Mahavidyalaya

The Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar successfully organized an enriching legal awareness camp at Baksirhat Mahavidyalaya on 31 August 2026.

The camp aimed to promote awareness about legal rights, duties, access to justice, and the importance of legal literacy among students and members of the community.

The speakers for the session were:

1. Ms. Jyoti Das, Assistant Professor of Law, who spoke on Judicial Activism and Human Rights.

2. Ms. Tulsi Debnath, LL.B. 5th Semester, who spoke on the Right to a Pollution-Free Environment.

3. Mr. Shubham Sarkar, LL.B. 5th Semester, who spoke on FIR and Zero FIR.

4. Mr. Shouvik Saha, LL.B. 3rd Semester, who spoke on the Right to Education.

The interactive sessions provided an engaging platform for participants to understand various aspects of law and develop greater awareness of their legal rights and responsibilities.

The programme reflected the institute's continued commitment to legal education, community outreach, legal literacy, and access to justice, while strengthening the connection between legal institutions and society.
