Legal Awareness cum Legal Aid Session

Legal literacy is the cornerstone of an informed and empowered citizenry. With this conviction, the Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Cooch Behar, organised a Legal Awareness cum Legal Aid Session at Netaji Vidyapith Higher Secondary School on 13 June 2026. The session was conducted by faculty members and students of LL.B. Semester IV aimed to sensitise school students to their legal rights, road safety laws, the role of law enforcement, cyber safety, and career opportunities available through legal education.

Speakers and Topics Covered

1. Dr. Sachin Singh,  Assistant Professor of Law : Cyber Space and Law: Do's and Don'ts on the Internet.

2. Mr. Kushal Sharma,  Assistant Professor of Law: Importance of Knowing the Law; Career Prospects of Legal Education.

3. Mr. Prasun Sarkar, LL.B. Semester IV: Management Head (Program Coordination).

4. Mr. Sayan Ray, LL.B. Semester IV: Fundamental Rights with Special Emphasis on Students.

5. Mr. Sayan Saha Roy, LL.B. Semester IV: Road Safety Laws and Legal Framework in India.

6. Mr. Shubham Sarkar, LL.B. Semester IV: Role of the Police.

The session was marked by enthusiastic participation from school students and proved to be an enriching experience for all involved. The program reaffirmed the commitment of the Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Cooch Behar, to fostering legal literacy and community outreach.
