Legal Awareness Program at Chandan Chowra Village, Pundibari

Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar has conducted a village awareness program in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Cooch Behar at Chandan Chowra Village, Pundibari.

The  program played a crucial role in empowering individuals by bridging the gap between legal Institutions and society.

In the session, several issues were identified and addressed, such as problems related to property, land, consumers, wages etc.

The session was attended by Mr. Meghnat Roy, President, Anchal; Mrs. Tapashi Ghosh, Member, Panchayat; Mrs Rejina Sultana, Para Legal Volunteer, DLSA Cooch Behar; Mr.Keshab Chandra Das, Secretary, Chandan Chowra Club and Mr. Dipankar Ghosh Supervisor, Gram Panchayat.

2. Ms. Sayantani Barman, LL.B Sem- IV - Various Government schemes for the people.

3. Ms. Habiba Akhtar, B.A.LL.B Sem- VIII - Land and Property Rights and Legislation.

4. Ms. Manu Das, LL.B Sem- IV- Consumer Rights and Protection Laws.

5. Ms. Sahanaj Khatoon, B.A.LL.B Sem- VIII - Legal Rights of Women and Children.

6. Ms. Jolly Biswas, LL.B Sem- IV - Labour Right and Minimum Wages.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks, delivered by Mr. Tanmoy Sarkar, Student Convener, Legal Aid Committee.
