Observance of Rabindranath Tagore's 164th Birth Anniversary at Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar

Rabindra Jayanti is an annually celebrated cultural festival, prevalent among Tagore philes (people who love Tagore and his works) around the world, in remembrance of Rabindranath Tagore's birth anniversary. It is celebrated in early May, on the 25th day of the Bengali month of Boishakh, since Tagore was born on this day of the year 1861.

Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar celebrated this auspicious occasion on 9th May 2025 by conducting a Cultural Fest Cum Competition, 2025 at its campus.

The event revolved around several competitions, such as: Recitation Competition,  Solo Song Competition, Solo Dance Competition, Group Song Competition, Group Dance Competition, and Drama Competition.

It was truly a mesmerizing show as the students from all the semesters actively participated in the competitions. The event was graced by the Chief Guests, Mr. Subrata Goswami, (Retired Senior Divisional Accounts Officer, West Bengal), Mr. Sourav Debnath, (Professional singer, composer, social worker, theatre artist), and Ms. Rashmi Ghosh,  (students  counsellor of Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar) who adjudged the competitions.

The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Sumita Ghissing, Assistant Professor of Law.
