Orientation and Grooming Session on Fundamentals and Etiquette of Debating

The Debate Society, Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar successfully organised the Orientation and Grooming Session on Fundamentals and Etiquette of Debating on 15.09.2026. Mr Kushal Sharma, Asst Professor of Law, addressed the students on why debating is essential for overall personal development and for advocacy, and how it builds oratory, research, critical thinking and confidence. Students were motivated to overcome fear and take the first step, as participation itself is the biggest learning.
The technical session on modalities and etiquette of debate was conducted by Ms Anaita Rakshit, B.A. LL.B (Hons.), Sem. IX.
