As part of the fieldwork for the subject Environmental Law, students of LL.B. 3rd Semester visited Madhupur Village, Cooch Behar, West Bengal.
During the visit, the students interacted with members of the rural community and gathered information regarding their awareness of environmental issues, dependence on natural resources, and the role of local communities in protecting and conserving the environment. The interaction provided the students with practical exposure to the environmental concerns faced by rural communities and helped them relate their classroom learning to real-life situations.
The visit was conducted as part of the empirical study titled “An Empirical Study of the Environmental Rights and Responsibilities of Rural Communities: A Field Study of Madhupur Village, Cooch Behar, West Bengal".
The visit provided an opportunity for the students to understand the relationship between environmental rights, community responsibilities, natural resource dependence, and environmental conservation at the grassroots level
