Training Session on Legal Aid and Its Practical Aspects at Institute of Legal Studies, Cooch Behar

The Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar, successfully organized a Training Session on “Legal Aid and Its Practical Aspects” on 17th August 2026 for the students of the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) 3rd, 5th, and 7th Semesters.

The session was conducted by Mr. Ankur Barman, Advocate, High Court Legal Services Committee, Calcutta High Court Circuit Bench at Jalpaiguri. The training provided students with valuable insights into the practical functioning of the legal aid system, the role and responsibilities of panel advocates, client counselling, legal awareness initiatives, and the importance of ensuring access to justice for weaker and disadvantaged sections of society.

The programme was organized under the coordination of Ms. Jyoti Das, Co-Convener, Legal Aid Committee.
