Dr. Sachin Singh is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Law at the Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar. He brings a strong academic foundation, with an integrated B.A., LL.B(Hons.) from the Department of Law, University of North Bengal and LL.M in Business Law from the Department of Law, Sikkim University. He had been recently awarded with the Doctorate Degree in Law. The topic of the thesis on which he was awarded his Ph.D. degreeis “MINORITY SHAREHOLDERS INTEREST IN HOSTILE TAKEOVER: A CRITICAL STUDY OF INDIAN LEGAL FRAMEWORK. His teaching and research expertise span Company Law (Regulations), Intellectual Property Laws/Rights, Banking Law, Insurance Law, International Trade laws, Corporate Governance, E-Commerce, Research Ethics and Methodology.
Previously, Dr. Sachin Singh has been working as a full time Ph.D. scholar and during those years he has presented many research papers in National and International Seminars. One of the major research papersthat he has presented is “THE ROLE OF LEGAL AID FOR THE PEOPLE AFFECTED BY CORPORATE AND MONETARY FRAUDS” at National Conference organised by Department of Law, University of Delhi. During those years he has also worked for publishing research articles in reputed journals. One of the articles published under Scopus indexed journal that is EducationalAdministration: Theory and Practice (E-ISSN:2148-2403 | P-ISSN: 1300-4832) is “INDIAN APPROACH TO HOSTILE TAKEOVERS”.
Dr. Sachin Singh has also gained some knowledge of practice in the Courts. During his time in B.A.LLB(Hons.) course, he has done internships at Darjeeling District Court and Siliguri Sessional Court under the guidance of experienced and learned Advocates like Adv. Vatsal Verma, Adv. Neeraj Zimba Tamang, Adv. Anish Tamang and Adv. AzekaZhimo. Additionally, duringthe time of post-graduation, he has also submitted a dissertation on the topic: “THE ROLE OF JUDICIARY IN PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN INDIA”. He was also awarded with the Certificate of Merit and a Silver medal at the University’s Sixth Convocation for attaining excellent academic performance after his completion of post-graduation.
Dr. Sachin Singh is certified to practice law by the Bar Council of India and is proficient in English, Hindi, Nepali, Bhojpuri and has elementary knowledge of Bengali. Dedicated to student mentorship and academic community development, he is passionate about research, teaching, and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
