Mr. Kushal Sharma is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Law at the Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar. He brings a strong academic foundation, with an integrated B.A., LL.B(Hons.) from the Department of Law, University of North Bengal and LL.M in Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Laws from the Department of Law, Raiganj University. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D from the very same Institute focusing on Farmers' Rights. His teaching and research expertise span Jurisprudence (Legal Concepts), Intellectual Property Laws/Rights, Biotechnology Law, Agriculture Law, Public International Law, Research Ethics and Methodology.
Previously, as a full-time PhD Research Scholar, he served as a Teaching & Research Assistant at the Department of Law, Raiganj University by actively contributing to postgraduate teaching, research and mentorship. His legal acumen extends to hands-on experience through internships at the Chamber of Advocate Rajiv Parajuli & Associates Kalimpong and Kalimpong Police Station. His scholarly work includes a LL.M dissertation on "BIOETHICS AND PATENTABILITY OF MEDICINES: ANALYSING THE LIABILITY OF STATES, INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS, AND PHARMACEUTICALS INDUSTRIES".
Mr. Kushal is certified to practice law by the Bar Council of India and is proficient in Nepali, English, Hindi, and has elementary knowledge of Bengali. Dedicated to student mentorship and academic community development, he is passionate about research, teaching, and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
